The Winter Carnival is Thorndale's latest tradition that keeps the community connected over the winter.
Every Family Day, the Thorndale Community Groups and volunteers prepare an afternoon of activities, treats and good ol' fashioned fun for neighbours to come together and participate in.
Classic favourites are the horse drawn sleigh rides, roasting marshmallows around the bonfire, hot dogs and hot chocolate - just to name a few.
In 2021, with the continued global pandemic restrictions in place, the annual event will be modified.
Date: Monday, February 15, 2021
Time: all day

2021 Activities
Here are some suggestions to celebrate our annual Winter Carnival in your own backyard.
-Have a bonfire and roast marshmallows. Share your sticky s'mores pictures with us!
-Go tobogganing. The hill on the school's property is great for young children. If you are looking for more of a thrill, head to the corner of Clarke Road and Sunningdale (5 minute drive) or Arva's Weldon Park.
-Make your own beaver tails at home. Watch for the video demonstration!

-Create art working in snow! Get creative with food colouring or other items. Send us your pictures for judging!
-Go on a winter scavenger hunt.
-Make a paper snowflake. Watch for a video demonstration coming soon!
-Make a birdfeeder
-Have a dance party!
-Make slime, playdough or a learn to draw a heart monster.
-If you have an outdoor rink, go for a skate.
Watch for video demonstrations coming soon.
