About the Youth of Thorndale

The Youth of Thorndale (Y.O.T.) is a group of youth leaders from Thorndale who plan fun events and activities for their peers and are actively fundraising to create a "Clubhouse" or Youth Centre in Thorndale. Their mission is to make Thorndale a more youth-friendly community.

There are two active youth groups run through I Love Thorndale:
Youth of Thorndale - Their focus is planning and facilitating youth-led community events.
Youth Clubhouse - Their focus is on the planning and creation of a youth space in the community.

Meeting Information

We will resume our meetings on September 14th from 4:30-5:30 pm. Please meet us at the Youth Clubhouse (160 King St) biweekly at this time to discuss upcoming events, gain leadership skills, and have a say about what youth can do in our close knit community! New members are always welcome to join 🙂

The Ultimate Thorndale Youth Survivor Challenge

The Ultimate Thorndale Youth Survivor Challenge

This event will be facilitated by BGC and I Love Thorndale in partnership with the Agricultural Society as part of the 2021 Thorndale Fair!

This is a Survivor-style team event that will see youth ages 10-18 work with their peers as part of a team to compete against other teams in order to win prizes.

All challenges will follow COVID-19 health guidelines.

The event will run from 3-6 pm on Saturday, September 25th at the Ball Diamond with lights on the Fairgrounds.

There is no cost to participate, but we ask the once youth register that they are committed to attending.

With over 20 youth involved in various ways between these two groups, there is lots of enthusiasm! I Love Thorndale needs your help - we are seeking adults with a current vulnerable persons screening check to help us support turning their enthusiastic ideas into reality. Consider gifting your time to this very worthy cause.

Congratulations to the Thorndale Youth Clubhouse project who were the successful recipient of a $15,000 grant through RBC Future Launch Community Challenge. We have so many amazing opportunities and ideas. More details to come!
