Thorndale Optimist Club

The mission of the Thorndale Optimist Group is to help youth. They donate funds to Ringette, soccer, hockey, West Nissouri Public School (Celtic Grade 8 trip), and Family Movie Nights at the Library. The organization was started in 1969.

Without the funds donated all of these activities would be more expensive for parents.

The Optimists are definitely looking for new members, without them, the club will not be able to survive. Any individuals interested can be sponsored by a current member. Fundraising is also important as current levels are not sufficient to sustain the organization. The Optimists meet twice per month. One night is a dinner with members, the second night is to conduct business.

The Optimists are currently putting money aside to help with the new Community Centre and believe a central centre is important for the community.
