The Masonic Lodge members will be conducting their MasoniChIP program during the Thorndale Easter Event.
This event is at West Nissouri Public School on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 10:30-11:30am

First established in Thorndale: 1873. Continually active ever since

Current Number of Members:
60

Mission:
We are not a service group. Specifically, we are a fraternal organization for men over the age of 21 and known as Freemasons, or simply Masons.

Who we are:
Masons are spiritual and moral men who choose to associate with a group of like-minded individuals for mutal benefit. What we find in freemasonry is a disciplined and systematic course of self-improvement based on the Golden Rule.

What We Do:
We meet regularly (except summer) for self improvement and fellowship, however, we also raise money annually for some specific donations to our community of Thorndale.

Why:
Masonry offers the opportunity to make each man better through its teachings, his Masonic associations and a philosophy that has served the social needs of men for centuries, by promoting: Tradition, Self Improvement, Sense of Accomplishment, Fellowship-Belonging to a Like-minded Group, and a break from the workday routine.

Meetings:
Third Thursday of each month from September to June at 7:30 PM

Events: an annual Oktoberfest Dinner, Draw and Dance to a live band which is open to the public and this is where we raise our community donations.
From time to time we have a Friend to Friend display (open house) for men interested in Masonry ... and spouses are welcome to attend the event also.

Examples of past projects: Donations to various community needs: Public School equipment, VON, Boy Scouts, Food Bank, Fire Department, Splash Park, Medical Centre roof and every two years, or so we host a Child Identification program with records and materials for parents to keep for police in case their child goes missing.

Membership: We are always awaiting men of good character to apply … and they must apply because we do not solicit membership.

Do you have Membership Fees? Yes

Volunteering Opportunities: yes, but it would be dependent on a specific event

Hall Rental: Two halls for rent – one for about 50 people and the other for about 100 people.
